So this is my first post ever on this blog and I had a whole day to think about who and what album I was going to put for my first post.I decided to wait to the end of the day and see how I felt about it and also I wanted an album I felt didn't get enough promotion or acknowledgment it deserved. I decided on John Lennon's own son, Sean Lennon's Friendly Fire. This is his second solo full length and honestly one of my favorites. It was released in October 3, 2006.

When i first heard about this album my first thoughts where"Wait, I didn't know John Lennon's son made music and is it any good? Or just because his daddy's music is great dose he think he can make great music?" So out of curiosity and love for John Lennon ( I mean come on its John fucking Lennon, this is his legacy) I decided to give a listen. From the first track I was in love with it. It started out with a hunting piano line that makes you believe you are in the same room as him with a hint of church bells in the background completely in tune. Then BOOM it comes in with full force and threatening lyrics "Dead meat/ Don't you know your dead meat/ You just messed with the wrong team/ Better not try to fall asleep now" and as I'm listen to his voice and harmonies I hear a little of his dad in him and I love it even more. I couldn't believe it! This song is actually pretty damn good, it has everything I love and what I wanted to hear. So I start thinking I hope the rest of the album is as good as this song and sure enough the next song starts off with a familiar acoustic guitar setting the tempo for the song and a really groovy bass line comes in one step ahead of the song. Im in love all over again.

I soon found out after 37 minutes of great music that each song had there own little gems about them but all completely different.AMAZING. He had created a great and beautiful album, maybe not the greatest but pretty damn close. It is beautiful in every chord and chord progression he makes and he accompanies it with beautiful lyrics and melodies carefully woven into these masterpieces. It really is a great listen when your down or its rainy or your driving really far or your thinking of someone or you just want to chill, take a load off and enjoy easy listing music. So don't be scared to take a listen to this and enjoy every minute of it and fall in love with it as much as i did. And maybe you can meet out there... inbetween the Moon and the sea.
